Child Protection
Berkshire County Ladies
Golf Association and its junior section Berkshire Girls
Golf want to ensure that all girls have a fun, safe and positive
experience when they play golf so we have implemented the
policies and procedures recommended by
Children in Golf (CiG).
CiG is a partnership of the key governing bodies and organisations in golf
which have come together to ensure that golf provides a safe environment for
children by making every reasonable effort to have a consistent message and
workable guidance to anyone working with children and vulnerable adults.
In June 2008, the Berkshire County Ladies Golf Association (BCLGA) Executive Committee
formally endorsed the county
Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy
Statement.
For our junior events, we ensure that volunteer event overseers and our coaches are both CRB
checked and receive Child Protection training. We have also appointed a County Welfare Officer
(CWO)
Hilary Savage whose job is to provide a focal point and initial
direction for both adults and children needing advice and for reporting any
concerns. In addition, there is one 'nominated person'
Nicky Luff who can be contacted for information about the Child
Protection Policy and Procedures.
