The Angela Uzielli Memorial Trophy 2013
Each Berkshire Club is invited to nominate one Ladies' Stableford or strokeplay competition as their qualifier for this trophy. The qualifying competition must take place before the end of August 2013. The winners of the Silver and Bronze divisions will go forward to represent their Club in the Final, at Royal Ascot Golf Club on Wednesday, 9th October 2013. Reserves must be available. Qualifiers will be allowed to compete even if their handicaps move them into a different division between qualifier and final.
The final will be a Stableford Foursomes competition. The best score will win the 'Angela Uzielli Trophy' (kindly presented by David and Hannah Hubbard). The winning Club will hold the trophy for one year. Only Full Members of Berkshire County Ladies' Golf Association will be eligible for the Final. If there is a tie there will be a count back on the last 9, 6, 3 and 1 holes. No buggies will be allowed unless a player holds a valid disabled certificate.
The entry fee for each Club is still to be confirmed, to include tea after the competition and prizes, the remainder of the fee goes to the Angela Uzielli Bursary Fund. Each year BCLGA hopes to raise at least £500 for the Bursary Fund from this competition, and each club is invited to consider making an additional, voluntary donation to the Fund from the entry fees for their qualifier.
BCLGA's 2nd Team Captain will run the competition, in liaison with Hannah Hubbard.
The Angela Uzielli Bursary Fund
Bursaries are awarded to promising girl golfers, to help them continue the development of their golfing skills during their further education at University or College. The Bursaries can be used to reimburse golfing expenses only, for students with financial constraints, and will continue for the duration of their academic course.
